Highly competitive year-long programme designed to help your personal, leadership and professional development.
The Leadership Academy Programme is there to support student leaders whilst at university. The one-year programme provides the opportunity for 1:1 mentoring, skills development, workshops and speaker series, interactive think tanks and networking events. Collectively, student leaders are provided with an opportunity to engage as a group and define their own values for clubs and societies while being provided with the opportunity to be part of a leadership network of students and global leaders.Student leaders in the Leadership Academy programme can benefit from: 1:1 personalised global mentoring from Durham alumni or partners.A year-long programme of 6 Key virtual, face-to-face workshops and interactive speaker events, delivered by industry leaders including (these are some of the potential workshops and talks on offer):
Networking events with mentors, global leaders and student leaders in London and Durham.Think Tanks are a regular space for student leaders and alumni that encourages a forum of debate on current issues, sharing views and insights.Online Toolkit we have a variety of introductory online modules covering different aspects of leadership.Welcome and Induction for new Leadership Academy students on 22 June 2023 with a networking opportunity to follow.
Residential training weekend, providing an opportunity to develop key leadership skills and network with other student leaders. (13-15 October 2023).
This programme is aimed at committed student leaders who are invested in upholding the University’s values and culture of excellence, the programme encompasses virtual self-based learning and reflection and in-person, face-to-face, training and opportunities. If you will be accountable for a team or a project in the upcoming academic year, if you've completed the Emerging Leadership Programme or if you have previous experience in leading a team, the Academy is an excellent opportunity for you.

Alongside our programmes, we host discussion forums for students, to engage and share leadership concepts.
We offer a diverse selection of courses from leaders of various industries and cultural establishments who are alumni or partners. These are delivered virtually as short presentations followed by interactive discussions and questions.
